    Auto Connect Tool
    In This Topic

The Auto Connect tool makes creating a diagram exceptionally quick and easy. The available shapes in the Mini Toolbar are entirely customizable, making Auto Connect an excellent tool for any diagram.

     Automatically connect a shape

One way to connect shapes is to let MyDraw connect them automatically when you add a shape to a page. This is especially convenient when you are creating a flowchart.

    1. Make sure that AutoConnect is turned on. On the View tab -> Show ribbon, verify that Auto Connect is checked.

    2. Drag a shape from the Shape Library to the drawing view.

    3. Hold the pointer over the shape until Auto Connect arrows appear around the shape.

    4. Click on the shape that you want to add.

    5. If you want to continue, point to an Auto Connect arrow on a newly added shape to add another shape that will also be automatically connected.

Change the shapes in the Auto Connect Mini toolbar

The shapes on the Mini toolbar come from the Shape Library of a diagram. The Mini toolbar displays up to four shapes. You can customize the shapes that appear on the Mini toolbar. The following procedure uses the Basic Shapes as an example:

    1. By default, the shapes in the mini toolbar are the first four in the library that immediately follows the Quick Shapes library. For example, these are the first four shapes in the Basic Shapes library: Pentagon, Diamond, Rounded Rectangle and Rectangle.

         2. To display different shapes in the Mini toolbar for a library, you can reorder them by dragging them to the top of the library:
